ESTHER MAIZELS 

Born in New York, Esther has been dedicated to Jewish South Africa since her arrival in 1976. She has served on many innovative projects in Cape Town from KOCOSA Cape Kosher Consumers, to Nechama bereavement counseling, Prepare Enrich pre-marital counselling to Jewish education across the spectrum. With over 40 years of experience in all levels of Jewish education, including early childhood education, teacher training and adult Jewish learning, Esther has consulted and coached many schools in the field of Jewish education. On the Melton faculty for 11 years she teaches:  Year One Core – Rhythms course, Foundations – teaching Jewish values to parents and educators, graduate courses in the Shivim Panim series and the Midrasha Global Day courses.  Esther is passionate about making Torah text learning accessible and inspiring.
