MOONYEEN CASTLE  gives time and energy to various caring organisations and activities which mainly focus on the education, uplifting and enriching the lives of those who are in need. She is Vice President WilD South Africa, Honorary Life Member of the Board of Honorary Officers of Bnoth Zion WilD, Honorary Life Vice President South African Zionist Federation, Immediate Past President Highlands House Home for the Jewish Aged (Now Ex Officio), Non-Executive Member National Board Afrikatikkun and a Teacher/Guide at the Cape Town Holocaust Centre.

Past activities and positions include Chairman Committee S1. Luke’s Hospice, Chairman Bnoth Zion/WIZD,

Chairman Cape Town Partnership 2Gether and National Co Chairman Partnership 2Gether

(First Woman Chairman in 104 years), South African Jewish Board of Deputies (Cape Council),

Chairman of the South African Zionist Federation (Cape Council), Committee Member Cape Jewish

Seniors Association and Committee Member of the Union of Jewish Women.

Moonyeen has represented South Africa at WIZO Conferences Israel, Partnership 2Gether in Israel and Washington, the Presidents Conference Israel, American Jewish Committee, Centenary Conference in Washington, Holocaust Claims Conference in New York and United Nations Watch in Geneva (discussions re Durban III).

Moonyeen is a teacher (retired) and passionate about all forms of education. She is married to Edward and they have three sons, three daughters-in-law and two granddaughters.
