OWEN FUTERAN was educated at Herzlia School and obtained a BA LLB from the University of Cape Town. He passed the Israel Bar Exams after organising for the Bar course to be conducted in Cape Town. He has been Chairman of the Western Province Zionist Youth Council, Chairman of Bnei Akiva Cape Town, Chairman of the Western Province Zionist Council and National Vice Chairman of the South African Zionist Federation, Chairman of the United Herzlia Schools, Chairman of South African Jewish Board of Deputies (Cape Council) and National Vice Chairman of the SA Jewish Board of Deputies.

He was also Inaugural Chairman of the Hatfield Campus Management Committee and has been responsible for many functions, events and marketing at Beit Midrash Morasha for past 15 years. Owen has earned The Eliot and Myra Osrin Jewish Vision Award, for a legacy of leadership that has enriched the Cape Town Jewish community (2013) as well as the Herzl Award of the World Zionist Organisation, in recognition of  efforts on behalf of the Zionist cause (2006). He practiced as an Attorney before becoming a Property Broker. Owen is currently Director at Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort with overall responsibility for the Oasis Sales Agency as well as the Care Centre. Owen is married to Lisa who together with our daughters, Chen, Keren and Adi have all made Ailyah over the past number of years and is the very proud grandfather of Be’eri.
